Thank you for visiting our website!
International Parental Child Abduction to India: Is a story of missed opportunities and misguided public policies of the world’s two largest democracies, the United States and India.
Through this website, we would like to highlight systemic, policy failures of successive U. S. Administrations starting in the mid-1980s, to draft and implement policies that would have prevented the abductions of hundreds, if not thousands of American children to countries like India and averted the suffering for American families.
Bring Our Kids Home is a parent-led organization focused on the return of American children victims of parental child abductions to India and prevention of future abductions
In July 2015, we published our first whitepaper: Public Policy Goals and Call to Action for the Obama Administration (read here), that calls for three (3) bold and urgent steps by the United States and India to deliver justice to victims of IPCA. They include:
1) U.S. Administration file a formal request with the Government of India, for the immediate return of ALL abducted American children whose cases are pending;
2) U.S. - India sign bilateral treaty, to prevent parental child abductions and establish mechanism to promptly return abducted children from both countries; and
3) India sign & ratify the Hague Abduction Convention to ensure abductions cases to India, from around the world, are promptly resolved. The United States should offer technical assistance to India, to fully implement the Hague Convention within 12 months of signing.
As we expand our website, you will read stories, see pictures of our children and their belongings, that remind us each day, the void, both emotion and physical that has become a reality for left behind parents across the country and the world who are victims of this terrible and inhuman crime!
We urge you to share this website with your family, friends and your elected representatives. We need urgent and sustained effort by the United States and Indian Governments, working in partnership to address this real, human tragedy.
